Praise the Lord everybody, we are living in a time where the world is searching for answers, and even Christians are looking to the hills and wondering “from whence cometh my help?” This should not be so for true believers. The word of God has taught us to read the signs of the times, and for those who know the Word, these are exciting times. To be able to see the Word of God come to life before our eyes is an amazing thing.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers’ places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Jesus was letting His disciples and us know that all these things will be happening in the last days and the last of the last days that we are in now. That may appear to be grim to some believers but verses 11-13 tell us 11 And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
We just need to endure, in faith, and the good news is we will not be in it alone because Jesus says that He will never leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5) Jesus also tells us inJohn 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
The same strength that allowed Jesus to face and die on the cross, and that same power that raised Him from the dead, is alive in those who claim Jesus as their Lord and savior. Christians need to remember that our help comes from the Lord, The Lord who created the heavens and the earth is our help. The Word tells us “If God be for you who or what can be against you?” (Romans 8:31) Again, Jesus said we will have trouble in this world, But His Word also tells us in Psalm 34:19-21 (KJV) 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
Our prize, as Christians are not long lives here in the world, our prize comes after a successful life of faith and obedience through trial and tribulations leading to everlasting life with Christ in the kingdom of Heaven. God sent His son to suffer and die for us and expects us to do the same thing for His son. So,” count it all joy when you fall into diverse trials…” (James 1:2) God bless you all.
There is such a thing as living-above-stress-life. It is called the overcoming life in Christ Jesus. It is living life from the ‘mountain top’; living life from the position of rest. Mind you, this kind of life does not mean there will not be challenges and trials because problems gravitate towards their solutions. Remember what the Lord Jesus Christ said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” John 16: 33. So trials and troubles are part of life. You cannot pray or wish them away. However, you can live above every trouble victoriously.
There are so many things that could make life very stressful these days. There is the uncertainty of the economy and business climate that is constantly hovering above us. There is also the fear of sickness and pandemics; daily there are bills to pay, obligations to meet. There is the constant rat-race we encounter in traffic, targets to meet in the office, family and other commitments to meet every day. In fact, there so much pressure from every quarter that can cause us serious worries. Despite all these, you can live a stress-free life.
Instead of worrying yourself stiff and feeling stressed out, do what the Lord Jesus Christ said we should do under such circumstances. He said, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” Philippians 4: 6. This is how to live from the ‘mountain top’, living life from the position of rest. Learn to talk to the Lord concerning anything no matter how insignificant it might seem. Pray to God and live according to His Word.
The Word of God says in Mathew 6, that it is God that feeds the birds in the air and clothes the lilies in the field and that you are more valued than them, and as such God will provide you all your needs. In verses 31 – 32, He says “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear? For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” Can you see that? So make up your mind today not to ever subject yourself to stressful conditions for whatever reasons. The Spirit of God through the Psalmist admonishes us thus, “Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you” Psalm 37: 5.
Learn to pray in the Spirit and meditate on God’s Word daily if you must overcome every depressing and stressful condition that comes your way. Meditate on these scriptures and you will perpetually overcome in life. “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you” 1 Peter 5: 7; “Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken” Psalm 55: 22; “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding” Proverbs 3” 5 and “Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be achieved” Proverbs 16: 3.
