How to Find God’s will in your Life?

Finding God’s will for one’s life is the most important search adventures any God created being would embark on. One without the accurate Knowledge of God’s will and purpose for his or her life is running a risk of both earthly and eternal failure.

Therefore, understanding how to access God’s will for one’s life is relevant to living God’s purposed life. Please note that it is imperative we understand  that God has a good will for everyone connected to Him as clearly stated in Jeremiah 29 : 11; For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. This implies that God’s will for our lives is in his plan for us, and is principally accessed by the following:

  • God’s Word:

Joshua 1:8 says:This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”. If we can link the scriptures from Jeremiah 29:11 as quoted earlier and Joshua 1:8, we can see that the ‘Good plans’ which was repeated as ‘Good Success’ in Joshua can be gotten through meditation of the word of God. Every will of God for a man’s life is embedded in his word. It is therefore important we engage in search of God’s word concerning his will for our lives.

Abraham was also living off course until the word of the Lord came to Him and delivered God’s will for his life. However, we can encounter God’s will for our lives through the diligent search of the word of God for our lives. Even when Samuel knew that he was dedicated to God from his childhood, he still had to hear from God under Eli’s custody to find out God’s plan for his life. Hence, we need to engage wholeheartedly in the Word for us to access God’s will for our lives.

  • Engaging The Holy Spirit:

It will be impossible to access any truth of the scriptures without the help of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ made it known to us while speaking to Nicodemus in the Chapter thee of John that, except a man is born of water and of the spirit, he cannot see nor enter into the Kingdom of God. This implies that Holy Ghost baptism is necessary for accessing the things of the Kingdom. And until one belongs to the kingdom by redemption, he cannot receive the spirit of God. Likewise, without the Spirit in one’s life, there is no way of hearing from God. Even if you read the whole scriptures as a non-spiritual person, you still cannot access the mystery therein as only the spiritually inclined have access to what the word is saying concerning us.

The Holy Ghost is the custodian of God’s will for our lives, and if he is absent in our lives, then, we may not have the required revelation of God’s will for our lives. Jesus Christ speaking to his disciples in John 16:13: But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. This verse, therefore, signifies that we are certain of getting a bearing to our lives through the help of the Holy Ghost.

You can hear from God directly through the Holy spirit, possible when we engage in prayer and fasting, when you engage in prayer and fasting, your spirit Man is charged, then your spiritual connectivity with the Holy Spirit then we be clearer than when you,  then you can hear from God his will for your life. On a final note, Isaiah 40: 31 says they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength, and Matthew 7:7 also tells us we need to seek God’s when we are in need. These chapters show us that when we depend and also call on God in faith, He will definitely come to our recue and lay out His will
