How to Fing Peace in a Stressful World

How to Fing Peace in a Stressful World

There is such a thing as living-above-stress-life. It is called the overcoming life in Christ Jesus. It is living life from the ‘mountain top’; living life from the position of rest. Mind you, this kind of life does not mean there will not be challenges and trials because problems gravitate towards their solutions. Remember what the Lord Jesus Christ said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the worldJohn 16: 33. So trials and troubles are part of life. You cannot pray or wish them away. However, you can live above every trouble victoriously.

There are so many things that could make life very stressful these days. There is the uncertainty of the economy and business climate that is constantly hovering above us. There is also the fear of sickness and pandemics; daily there are bills to pay, obligations to meet. There is the constant rat-race we encounter in traffic, targets to meet in the office, family and other commitments to meet every day. In fact, there so much pressure from every quarter that can cause us serious worries. Despite all these, you can live a stress-free life.

Instead of worrying yourself stiff and feeling stressed out, do what the Lord Jesus Christ said we should do under such circumstances. He said, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to GodPhilippians 4: 6. This is how to live from the ‘mountain top’, living life from the position of rest. Learn to talk to the Lord concerning anything no matter how insignificant it might seem. Pray to God and live according to His Word.

The Word of God says in Mathew 6, that it is God that feeds the birds in the air and clothes the lilies in the field and that you are more valued than them, and as such God will provide you all your needs. In verses 31 – 32, He says “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear? For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” Can you see that? So make up your mind today not to ever subject yourself to stressful conditions for whatever reasons. The Spirit of God through the Psalmist admonishes us thus, “Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help youPsalm 37: 5.

Learn to pray in the Spirit and meditate on God’s Word daily if you must overcome every depressing and stressful condition that comes your way. Meditate on these scriptures and you will perpetually overcome in life. “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you1 Peter 5: 7; “Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shakenPsalm 55: 22; “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understandingProverbs 3” 5 and “Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be achievedProverbs 16: 3.
